The Lucere Initiative takes its name from the Latin lucere — to shine, to illuminate. Our signature candle bears the foundation's name — The Lucere Initiative — inscribed in gold leaf, a symbol of the light we carry into the world's darkest places.
Each candle is hand-poured and gold-leaf-inscribed. 100% of proceeds directly fund the operational capacity to connect elite private resources with front-line rescue organizations.
Why "Lucere"
Human trafficking persists because intervention is siloed — fragmented across agencies, sectors, and jurisdictions that rarely speak to one another. The Lucere Initiative exists to bridge that gap, turning awareness into actionable, systemic response.
Founded by Crystal Hernandez, Lucere is built as an institutional catalyst — not an operational rescue organization. The specialized, dangerous work of intervention and victim recovery belongs to organizations built and licensed for exactly that purpose. Our role is to bridge the gap: connecting the logistical precision of private enterprise with the front-line expertise of vetted organizations, and channeling attention, funding, and support toward them.

What We Do

- • Maintain a directory of established, vetted anti-trafficking organizations
- • Raise funds transferred directly and transparently to those organizations
- • Accept in-kind support — like discounted or pro-bono aviation transport — directed to vetted partners under their own protocols
How We Bridge the Gap
- • We de-risk the humanitarian sector by connecting vetted organizations with stable, pre-vetted private-sector partners
- • We build resilient civic partnerships so logistics, transport, and resources are ready when frontline organizations need them
- • We maintain strict separation: no donations, referrals, or opportunities are routed back to any founder's private business
